Fs: Brand New Yaesu Ft-7800r Ham Radio

It is brand new, in the box. Never used or installed. I bought it in October 2007.

"The FT-7800R provides 50 Watts of power on the 144 Mhz band, and 40 Watts on the 430 MHz, and is designed for simplicity of operation along with high performance in the receiver section. The FT-7800R is ideal for the active Ham who has a need for simplex, repeater, or FM satellite operation on both bands, but without the complication of cross-band repeat capability, which is available on our FT-8800R and FT-8900R models."

Look at the YAESU web site for further info and specs.

I want to move in the 2M direction or ham or whatever it is you all use. Problem right now is, I don't know enough about it to know if thats the radio I want.
I'll study up on it when I'm ready for that direction.

Why is it that everything I want comes on sale at exactly the same time?

And why is it that that is exactly the same time that I have absolutely no money to spare on toys?

my lack of motivation is your gain!

Truth is I bought this thinking I would get my HAM license and mount this in my blazer. Since then, I've walked passed this radio everyday sittin' in the garage STILL in it's original box.

Plus, all my friends are hooked on the stupid CB thing and all have CB's. None have the HAM nor the intelligence to get a HAM license.

I prefer you be local IN PHOENIX!

Dave this radio has your name all over it. Plus Jerry has the program kit for it. Talk him into shipping it to you. :bigbossHL:

Programming kit? Wish I would have known these existed. One look at the manual and I really didnt want anything to do with it.
