Hi All - I'm in Santa Barbara, CA and have the following for sale:

1980 Mercedes 207D Westfalia Edition

Photo Album here: http://bit.ly/1v6shqR

Imported from Germany in 1985

Same engine as Mercedes 240D with approx 149K miles (240 km - gauges are km) = LOTS of life in it.

I purchased this from a GWAGEN expert up in Sausalito who is an honest seller and Mercedes enthusiast - see his site at GWAGENPRESERVE.COM
Reason for sale: I planned to do a north to south trip on the west coast and leave work for half the year but due to work circumstances the trip has been postponed and I need to sell.

Details/Features:

Original Westfalia Kitchen with Propane and Electric Fridge/Freezer, Propane Stove, and Sink
Original Westfalia hanging locker and closet cabinets.

Incredible height accommodations. You could load two motorcycles in the back if you wanted. You can have 3 people standing in it no problem. It could be used as a mobile office very easily as well with commercial parking plates (included in CA).

Custom built lazarettes on each side add lots of storage. (Easily removable if you want to do bench seats)

Just installed brand new 13 GAL Water tank, hooked up hose lines, and an instant propane heater on the water lines for hot H20.

Overhead bed comes apart in sections and stores in right side lazarette bench.

Overhead bed sections can be left partially in place for more storage, or removed for more headroom.

Rear Step

4 Interior Hella Lights

Sound Pad Insulated Synth Maple Flooring

Wool Low Pile Carpet in Front, the floor in the front compartment has had full Dynamat installation to reduce cabin noise.

Kitchen and locker/cabinet is easily removable if you want to convert back to more of a open hauling configuration.

STEREO:

Van has new marine stereo

Recently installed 4 channel amp, component speakers up front, and still have an open channel for rears.

Windows pop out and up and are very rare Westfalia moulded double pane windows and frames.

Rear door window is single pane Westfalia fixed panel.

There is also a skylight over the rear corner inside.

Propane tank and 12V water pump for sink and shower are included and located in the kitchenette.
Additional $200 deep cycle AGM 12V Battery wired up.

There is an exhaust vent for the propane out the side.

3" Organic Latex Firm Foam Mattress with Black Futon Cover - like new perfect for Space

It has a 110V plug under the driver door to plug into household current, and a wired junction box behind the driver seat - this needs to be reworked (see notes below).

Commercial plates allow you to park in loading zones if you opt to keep them and live in CA.

Interior is insulated with 2" thick foam sheet behind the panel walls and ceiling. This includes also the rear doors.

Mechanicals:

All Terrain Tires (decent tread, if you will be mainly driving on highways I'd suggest a different tire)

Mechanically solid, would drive anywhere tomorrow or serve as reliable, efficient daily driver.

4 Cylinder diesel mercedes engine with 4 speed W601/Gwagen manual transmission
Gets ~ 26 mpg

Can be modified for WVO and can run biodiesel if you change fuel lines to Viton.

Not much for corrosion underneath.

A lot of work has been done to the van in last 2 years:

( I do not have receipts of this from previous seller but verified their condition upon purchase and trusted. )

Redone Front Passenger Seat
Recaro Driver seat and custom mount
Redone 3 core radiator
Redone Starter
New Alternator
New Battery
New Ignition
New Fan blower
New Relays
New Rear differential with 4.9: Ring and Pinion drive ratio / can haul any load
Rebuilt rear axle
Rebuilt Driveshafts and New Carrier bearing and housing.
Brakes good
Replaced Injectors

Needs:

One of the Westfalia Window clips has a piece that snapped off. The other one works so it closes and clips shut but you can fix the other one in a number of ways.

The van drips oil a miniscule amount - about a 1/4 quart every month has been my assessment. However, you would have a few drips on a pristine driveway.

Van is from 1980 - not a cream puff but total driver and ready to go.

OVERALL:

This is an excellent rare van of which perhaps a handful exist in North America and yet parts are not a problem to obtain. The vehicle goes anywhere and is built from commercial grade Mercedes truck parts.

Regarding price, please know that I'm accepting reasonable offers or trades.
Van was professionally appraised at 26K.
Title in hand, questions can be sent via email.
