Just starting a new build. 2014 Laramie Power Wagon. 35" Toyo MT's. I just changed out wheels (not shown) to make a little more room. The 35's on the stock wheels were hitting a bolt on the radius arm at full lock. The new wheels (5" bs/ +1 offset) did the trick.

What kind of wheels did you get? I'm considering getting a '14 PW and would like to add 35's. I'm also interested in White Rim and similar trails.

I started out with a 98 Ram 1500 which served me well for many years.

Now I have a 2006 Ram 1500 that will slowly be built to suit my needs. I love these Rams.

I see you haven't been around but hoping you see this. Anything to update on this rig?
Very similar to what I may be starting with for photography/camping in the northeast.

I don't think I posted in this thread.. here's a pic of mine at Camp Tahquitz last weekend with the truck bed tent..

I'm working on cleaning up my 1988 Lance hardside camper for the longer family jaunts, or the times when we're just going to have a basecamp with no trails being run. Here are a few pictures of the truck in various configurations.

I need to get some sliders for it, as I've already massively dented the passenger side pinch weld area. I'm working with John at White Knuckle offroad to produce some long bed sliders... Hopefully soon.

the new PW are rated to tow 11,300 IIRC. they have a lighter tow capacity due to the rear spring packs...

edit the 2013 is 11,230 the 2014 are 13,530 with 2500 payload.

The payload of the 2014 PW is just under 1500 lbs. (1470 or 1480 or 1490, I forget which.)

Curious where you got that payload figure. If that is what it is then, I would be better off buying a Tacoma. The numbers I have seen are much higher than 1500 lbs, IIRC my '05 PW was around 2000lbs.

Looking at the Ram 2014 brochure the towing/payload specs for a crew cab 4x4 with a 6.4L Hemi, auto and a 6'4" bed is 15,580 lbs towing and 3,250 lbs payload. GCWR is 22,500 lbs and a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. The brochure does not give specs for a PW unfortunately.

While at the Dodge/Ram dealer in Prescott Az. I checked out a Laramie level PW and they ran the VIN# on it and came back with specs of 15,450 lbs towing, 3,144 payload, curb weight of 6,850 lbs and 22,500 lbs GCVW. The PW does haul less than a standard gasser 4x4 which I would expect and if the figures I have gotten are correct they are not bad. In the short test in the Overland Journal (last issue) they give a 18,500 lb GCWR but no tow/payload #s, which is a huge difference, have to say I don't know what to believe.

My 2001 2500.
Nothing special, 2.5 inch spacer in the front. Stock 12 bolts with 37" Military tires.
I'm adding the DOR bent control arms to regain my turning radius. That is if they ever show up....

You never know with DOR.
My friend's 2nd gen straight arm DOR's showed up one morning. The guy did return one e-mail in two months though.
I must admit, a quality product when they eventually made it.

The PW was shown at the Overland Expo as an introductory showing, and the head of Ram truck engineering was there. I asked him the payload question and his reply was "1500 lbs."

The info on the PW usually comes from "boiler plate" info on the 2500 series, which have a 10000 GVW with the 6.4 or the diesel. The info on the dealer's website of the PW pictured below shows both GVW's: 8510 and 10000! So you have to look at the door sticker to see what the official, accurate, GVWR is. Photo below. I'm afraid the dealer in Prescott, when they ran the VIN, found the info for a regular 2500, not specifically a PW. Shame on Ram for having conflicting info out there.

Here's a test report with some additional info. Scroll down to "Cargo and Towing."

I'm just starting out with this build. 2014 Ram Power Wagon with Laramie trim. I added 35 12.50 18 Toyo MT tires on 18X9 Fuel Offroad wheels. I went to the 18's to make a little more room for the front calipers. It was tight in there! 35's fit with a little trimming up front and pulling the fender liners back some. Adding another 1" to 1.5" up front would make sure zero rubbing at full flex. The flexed up pics show about 95% from the bump stops. The fork truck we were using didn't like the weight up front. :)

Wheel specs 18X9 +1 Offset.
Toyo Open Country MT 35 12.50 18.
Bakflip G2 Bed Cover.
De-badged some of the chrome badges.

Waiting for AEV's release of products at SEMA before I do too much more. I plan to do bumpers and rock sliders.

I have and SPOD on the way and already have two sets of Rigid D2 Dually lights and 1 set of SRQ flush mounts for the rear.
I need to figure out a way to mount my Power Tank and Rotopax mounts in the bed without getting in the way of the tie down loops.

Thanks for the reply, I was at the Expo as well but only had a day to spend there. When I stopped at the Ram booth (first booth I stopped at Friday morning) they were not quite ready to talk about there products yet and I just didn't get back before having to head home. The one thing I came away with was the graphics package had to go. The PW I saw at Prescott had just arrived at the dealership and was in the shop so I didn't get to check it out up close.

For sure the info on the door jam is the only one that counts and what you posted makes the PW inadequate for my needs which is disappointing. I'am not surprised the figures I got were incorrect, Ram really should make the correct info easier to find.

Very nice to see a Ram with H1 wheels. I have a set of them that I'm considering using on my ram but haven't seen many picts of folks who have done it. How thick of a wheel spacer did you have to run to push them out far enough? Any other picts?

Truck looks good! Stiff springs in the front? Doesn't look like you are traveling up at all, might knock your truck off balance on the off camber stuff.
