Fuso FG Production halt?

I read a similar comment about stopping production in an online automotive column several weeks ago. I talked to my dealer last week and all he knew was that he was still receivung FJs. He hadn't heard anything about stopping production.
I haven't heard anything about FG production stoppage.
I bought my first FG in 1993 and was also told that the FG was no longer being imported to the US. And indeed importation stopped until 1998.
I purchased the last available 1993 FG in the US. I had to fly / drive 2400 miles to get it.
But it never affected my ability to get service, parts or warranty work and we drove the resulting custom expedition camper all over the US and Canada.
When they started importing again we converted the 1993 FG to a stake truck, purchased a new 2004 FG and built a new expedition camper.
They are great vehicles, at least our 1993 and 2004 have been, and I wouldn't push back because of "dealer talk" about excess inventory.
Sounds like an opportunity for a deep discount.

Definitely sounds like "dealer talk" to me too, Tom. The Australian dealers ran right out out of FG's a couple of months back due to the high demand. No MWB FG's available anywhere in the country. The new batch just arrived here a few days ago. (We've got one in our shed already). Now spec'd up with electric windows, airbags, remote central locking and I bet they don't last too long in the dealers hands either with all the mines firing up in a big way. If anything, I would have thought they'd be ramping up production.
Nah. Cannot see them pulling the FG from the range for a long time too come. They must be so easy for Fuso to put together on the assembly line alongside the FE.

I wish. That would be worthwhile...... No just being able to lock the doors with a fob on the key ring. None of that was available here on the first FG84. Used to get electric windows on some of the 649's ........it's a long story but our rural fire service had a big say in what specs we used to get here.

Mitsubishi Fuso is introducing new and revised trucks this spring. Existing production probably has stopped in order to update the assembly line.

The biggest downside that I see is in the area of the new BlueTec® emission system.
My understanding is that no modifications to the exhaust can be made. That could be a real pain if you needed to move it to fit water tanks etc.

My understanding is that the ADBlue is superior to the DPD. And i was informed that exhaust changes are possible
