FWC Purchase and Camper Prep for Tennessee To Argentina Road Trip

Absolutely, I'll certainly do what I can. What voltage does your Battery bank voltage rest at with no load or charge after 4 or so hours? If you over discharged your batteries as you said I would equalize them per manufacturer instructions. This is essentially a controlled overcharge that will help de-sulfate your batteries. I recommend you do this as soon as you can

To be honest I'm not sure. We tend to have at least some small load on it here and there. I'll make a point of letting it sit with no load for a while and check the voltage. And we met up with some other travelers that happen to have a charger with an equalization setting which we will use very soon. Thanks. I'll let you know how things go.

If I recall you have a duracell AGM battery which is a rebadged deka I believe... be sure the charger does not raise the voltage beyond what is recommended for that battery, I suspect you will have to find that info via Deka as opposed to Duracell. Think you can find me one of those sweet truck campers? lol... How are you liking the truck your using?

Thanks for the info, we haven't used the charger yet for that reason. Like us, you may just get lucky and find a used FWC. There's a few out there. We love our truck. No issues as of yet, although we could've gotten by with a 150 if we knew we were going to find a FWC.

I bet it would fit just fine in a 1500. Having owned a V10 F250 and now a silverado 1500, for a trip like that I would want the F250. Just a tougher truck. I got 12 mpg in the F250 and am getting 16 mpg in my 1500. I know it adds up but having the extra payload and beefier front end is worth it on those roads. Looks like an awesome trip an you have an awesome rig/camper
