You know, this is a bit off topic, but I'd like to share a photo that I took at school that was foremost in my mind when I was typing that:
I'm a pretty big LC fan (owned several) and plan on a lifetime of ownership, so I hope no one thinks I'm a weirdo for peeking inside other 80's I see around looking for the magic dial.
I spotted this beast parked in the parking lot at school. Bone stock, a few aftermarket brush guards, a plate that demonstrates the owners affinity for bizarre looking small dogs, and of course... the magic dial.
Fully locked 80 series, driven by an older lady with a Def Leppard sticker and a disturbing license plate.
She's not on MUD, or ExPo. She probably hasn't done the PHH, or relocated her AC condenser, and I doubt she's replaced her axle seals lately. I think she has EVERY port installed piece of plastic that people delete as soon as they get their rigs (wood grain, running boards, roof rack, rear spoiler, etc.)
These things will run forever, and have a lot of tolerance when it comes to maintenance and expendable items. They're very forgiving. This woman probably knows nothing of our world, only that her Toyota starts every morning and gets her to and from work.
And, you can haul your pugs around with them!
