Garmin 276C fell and broke

Has anyone here had experience sending their out of warranty Garmin GPS back to factory to be fixed? My 276C fell on to a hard floor and did not break on outside but GPS is all quirky now and off path when it wasnt before. I dont mind paying for them to fix if worth it especially since this thing was like $450, this thing has been great thus far and I would just buy a new one if there was one on the market compatible and as reliable with all the same functions, I read that there is something from garmin coming that has larger screen, possibly touch screen but thta it still doesnt have all the stuff the 276C does?

Thanks
Rob

I had a Garmin Vista Legend that the pointer stopped working on after it got tossed from my Jeep in a partial roll. I called them and told them exactly what happened. The support person told me that as long as there were no marks on the case it would be repaired under warrenty. They gave me an RMA # and I sent it in. They repaired it and sent it back to me at no charge.

Can't hurt to give them a call.

I have had two different 276C's repaired by Garmin service in Olatha Kansas. The first time I actually stopped at their Corporate HQ on the way home from Utah, walked in, and spoke to the secretary there. She had me speak to the repair service (which is off site in a different building), and they gave me a number, and I left the unit with the secretary.

The repair was not under warranty ( I expected that as I had bought it several years ago), cost a flat $175, and was worth it. The unit showed up in my mailbox at home in Indiana 10 days later.

I want to say that I'm sorry about your loss and I hope that Garmin fixes it for a reasonable charge. I have a Garmin 478 and will send it back if it ever breaks until they run out of parts! Love these older units.:coffee:

appreciate it fellas, i dont even use this thing to its capacity but hopefully one day I will, my friends make fun of it and call it a fish finder but it has not let me down. I want to start doing the whole topo mapping thing and track as I go as in Overland Journal so i think it is worth it to get fixed. Do i hope they come out with a larger touchscreen model with as many features heck yeah, but until then the "fish finder" works for me

Thanks
