gas struts for poptop

Just wondering if anybody has used gas struts for the lifting divices on a poptop camper would it work.Den

There quite a few posts on here about that topic. If you search they should pop up FWC offers them as an option I believe. Others have retrofitted them.

Struts

Here's photos of the rear and front of my camper..I used 40lb struts on both the front and rear. Made all the difference in the world. I can sit on the couch and raise the roof with one hand. Should have done it years ago.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of installing the struts vertically with the vertical lift as opposed to at an angle with a partly sideways lift?
