One tip that a friend suggested to me (after the fact), that I wish I had known before: before you take off the old belt, mark your timing indicators with a paint pen on the belt, then once its off, line up the old belt with the new belt and transfer the marks over. This helps because even with the cams and crank all lined up you could possibly have x number of teeth between PS cam and DS cam, or Y number of teeth, depending on how tight you pull it. But with the marks you'll know exactly how many teeth should be between the timing marks.
Maybe someone else has another method for ensuring proper belt alignment, but I thought that would have made it really simple if only he had told me BEFORE I did mine.
