Georgia Adventure Camping

Hello I wanted to get feedback for those that might be familiar with great spots for some “soft roading” and camping in the state of Georgia, North Georgia. We have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and a teardrop camper. We are looking for a route (maybe part of Georgia Traverse) we can drive and camp for a couple of days that won’t be too technically difficult. Thanks for your suggestions.

I have done the GA Traverse several times, a few times towing our old small tear drop with our old Subaru Crosstrek. Its a wonderful "softroading" trail. There's only one section with a small creek crossing around this part (34.96843, -83.50697, you may want to bypass if you trailer doesnt have high clearance. We went through the creek no issue, but may be trouble in early spring.

North Georgia is a great spot for soft-roading and camping. Parts of the Georgia Traverse are perfect for what you're looking for—especially around Chattahoochee National Forest. Roads like Tray Mountain, Dicks Creek Gap, and Tallulah River Road are scenic, not too rough, and have plenty of spots to camp. Since you’ve got a 4WD and a teardrop camper, you should be fine on most forest service roads.
