Yep, my daughter and I both got high for roughly two weeks in Colorado. I know that marijuna is legal in Colorado but the purpose of this trip was to see my family and spend a little quality time with my daughter, Lilly. We were high...we spent roughly 2 weeks at altitudes between 7-13,000 feet. Colorado is a magical place for access and beauty up in the high, alpine terrain. Make an effort if you haven't; you won't be disappointed.
The drive from Utah into Colorado is uneventful. We made good time and stopped at a favorite place of mine...Maybell, Colorado. General stores likes this are hard to find anymore. When you see one; pull over and pay a little extra for something to keep the place alive. It would be our little theme on this trip.
Camp was quickly setup outside Steamboat Springs. Lilly reading a few words before bed.

"The Boat" as a lot of locals call it is an awesome place to spend a few days. We have been fortunate enough to have spent a great deal of time in Steamboat already. So, off we went...We threw in a few flies first.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL SEE MY DAUGHTER IN A PINK TUTU IN A LOT OF THESE PICTURES. SHE HAS 3 OR 4 OF THE SAME TUTU. I DO WASH THEM!
Starting to get high...

We were off to see the Rabbit's Ears that make this mountain pass on highway 40 famous. Our plan was to hike up to them. Unfortunately, snow stopped our progress.

Just in the distance...

Now, time wasn't on our side. My mother was waiting for us in Keystone/Breckenridge. But, we stopped and fished a little more...

Lilly trying to pick out the "winner". Unfortunately, the dry fly action wasn't good. Or, more than likely it was us! My wife is a former guide...she knows this fly and that fly...I, on the other hand, no **** about flies. They all look good to me!

The storms of the high country are simply awesome! We were about to get one...

More to come...
