Looking good! I'm excited to see this truck in person, do you think you will be available for a trip on the feb 2nd?

Are you concerned about the uniball UCA's longevity when it comes to the PNW weather?

I'd like to... Just depends on if I'll be installing the rear bumper that weekend. It would be nice if the uniball were a sealed design. Although, the Total Chaos (similar design) a-arm on my 99 4runner held up just fine. Hopefully, they can survive a couple years at least. I'll keep you guys posted.

Lift and alignment are done! OME Dakar w/ add leaf + nitrocharger sport shocks. Warn Xeon 10-S Winch - Viking Fairlead, Thimble and Rock Guard. Still need to finish the winch controller mounting but it is all hooked up and working.

Looks great montyp! I'm tracking your progress for my own build.

One question, did your lift have a forward rake after install or is the suspension flex in the middle pic just from your driveway? Sort of looks like it.

It is slightly flexed in the pic... The back is a couple inches taller. Keep in mind it has the additional leaf and no weight in the back. It should sit at 1" or so taller in the rear fully loaded. Nothing worse than tail dragging...

More to come soon.

Nice build! I just bought a dclb last week and I am looking to possibly use the OME suspension as well. Now that you have driven it a few days, how do you like the ride compared to the stock ride? Firmer or softer? Handling? And did the back drop much with a load? Looks high like you said compared to the front but I might go with the lighter leaf pack. Any tire rub yet?

It drives better than stock (to me). Ride is firm but not harsh. Handles better. Much more composed over bumps. Handles the front weight perfectly well. I removed the sway bar and been happy so far (improves off road and bump handling). I haven't loaded the rear yet. Expecting it will drop approx 1-1.5" when loaded. The additional leaf increases the spring rate and works well if your truck is loaded in the rear. I'll be adding a bunch of weight so it should work out perfect for me. The additional leaf adds a bit too much lift for stock rear weight (still rides great tho).

Great video! i have to give credit to the guy who brought a floor jack to chain up his taco.

I was on a run with a local club a few weekends ago that had a quite a varied group of rigs, we had an 80 series there who was the only one who chose to chain up, (all 4) but his tires were very low on tread. The snow was a lighter consistency sugar/granular style, it didn't like to pack up much at all, but if you had the right combo of gearing, weight and tires you could crawl/float on top of it. The 80 series did pretty well, but i would say no better or worse than those of us on smaller tires (33's and under)

How did the tacoma do being the only one in the video who i saw was running chains?

He had the same trouble that most of us experienced... Digging down more than pulling forward. It was wet snow!
