Glock 19

Everybody who has a glock loves a glock, I don't like glock, but I wouldn't bad mouth it cause someone might like it, as the 19 is a great size and firepower middle ground

I've got a couple G19s. Don't really "like" them, but they're a tool and a good one for what they do. They're compact and light and easy to shoot well, so that's a plus. And they carry easy and last forever with minimal upkeep. I prefer Gen2 - no finger grooves, no light mount - over the newer ones.

That said, I'd much rather be wearing a 1911 or an old S&W N-frame with fixed sights. I think I was born a couple generations later than I should have. I almost never wear the Glock on the weekend.

Buying a Glock is expensive because your going to want more. Started with a 22, than a 27 for CC, than a 23 just because. Can you tell I like the .40!

I agree with what computer user said- they're a tool as far as I'm concerned. They work extremely well and I respect them for that but they don't seem to have any soul like a 1911 or a wheelgun. I also don't care for the unnatural grip angle- a 1911 has a much more natural point to it for most folks. That said I've owned quite a few Glocks and still have a 19 and a 21SF (which I need to send back to Glock for the mag release issue). I'll probably buy a 26 at some point soon and I've been thinking about a 29.

To heck with adding a two shot extension, buy the Glock 18 magazine- 33rnds of 9mm fun. :sombrero: Actually I've got Glock 17, 18 and 19 mags. I've also got a Kel-Tec sub 2000 that takes the Glock 17 mags. They make a version that takes the 19 magazines but you can tell where someone just cut the grip off with a hot knife. I figured I could do that myself if I decided I needed to. I prefer the longer grip on the carbine and I can use the 17 mags in the pistol.

Glock is an excellent platform.

I have a 19 and a 26 like the above picture. my favorite gun is my 26 with the mag sleeve so it accepts 19 mags. they're great tools, and I carry my 26 daily

I've bought two but only have one. Wife took the first G19 so I had to go out and get me another. :sombrero:

I think they are boring but that is overshadowed by their reliability, intuativeness and durability.

I used to own a 23 and liked it, except that the grips were a little large for my hands. So when I drew and fired quickly I always shot to the right. I tried out and ultimately bought an XD40 Service (same length and caliber) because it fits my hand much better.

With carefully aimed shots I was more consistant with the Glock but with quick draw / fire situations I am far better with the XD.

I only mention the XD because I have had a couple of friends complain about the grips on the Glocks as well, and all of them preferred the feel of the XD as an alternative polymer 4" .40.

Both are good quality firearms providing great durability and reliability. Never had a misfire / failure to feed with either.

I've carried a GLOCK at work for about 10 years now and all I can say is that it's a great tool to have in your tool belt. It's not sexy (like a custom 1911) but it works.
