GMC has created a concept off-road truck that stands a pretty good chance of seeing production. With the Ford Raptor and Dodge Power Wagon attracting floor traffic to showrooms, it seems reasonable for GMC to consider an off-road truck of its own.
The Sierra All-Terrain is an HD version of an overland vehicle, just the ticket for carrying a camper. Payload is 2,700 pounds and towing capacity is 13,000 pounds. Equipment includes
crew cab Sierra 2500 HD pickup
6.6L Duramax diesel with 765 ft-lbs or torque
6 speed Allison automatic trans
locking front and rear differentials
ground clearance increased 3 inches to almost 12 inches
35-inch BF Goodrich KM2 mud terrain tires on 20 inch rims.
longer, stronger control arms
custom Fox off-road shocks
electric disconnects for front stabilizer bar
This show car has an over-the top interior that wouldn't make it to production.
And, please, no whining about independent front suspension. This is an off-road hauler, not a rockhopper.
