It was designed and developed by backcountry climbers and skiers in Denver, Colorado but like others, they rely on manufacturing partners in Italy and China for parts and assembly. I can attest, their 5 Watt Radios are well built, quality radios! They are pricey but you get what you pay for. They have several lengths of SMA antennas you can use depending on the distance you are trying to cover. They have several accessories for the 5 Watt Handheld. Makes a great spotter radio and use around camp - nice and compact!
