Go big or go home:

We've got all kinds of crazy ideas- a wine rack for French and Italian wines, a globe bar for single-malt Scotch, a display case for our matching Arai Isle Of Man TT motorcycle helmets- nothing is off the table...
I hope it's a rack for wine barrels?

Spent a HOT day working on the drawbridge.

We mocked up the two 3,500 pound winches and their 1/4" thick steel plate mounting brackets on the upper rear corners of both side walls to take measurements, and then designed and built the attachment points for the winch cables at the drawbridge door (we already had the basic drawbridge framework done).

Then we sheathed the inside of it with 3/4" plywood. Everything was screwed and glued with urethane construction adhesive.

We're gonna wait to install the insulation and sheathe the outside of it until after we've mounted and raised it, as it's getting pretty heavy already.

I'll try to take some pics later.

Finally got the drawbridge hinge ordered too- it's an 8 foot long piano hinge made of 1/4" plate steel, with a 5/8" steel full-length pin. Should be here Tuesday...

We also ordered our house battery bank- 600Ah of AIMS Power LiFePO4 batteries with bluetooth monitoring.

Sounds expensive, but fantastic lightweight solution worth the money to hit those weight targets. I have 450 ah victrons and they are beautifully light helping me keep well within design parameters.

Laid down our 6th and final coat of epoxy on the roof.

Worked on the drawbridge a little more- routered the top and sides, as well as routering the slots for the drawbridge winch cables to go through to their anchors inside the drawbridge. Starting to fill and sand it.

I think mtvr talked about the gap between the box and cab as a kind of veranda, there is possibly some kind of porch going around the door for weather protection? This could be effective at mitigating the issues of the domestic door.
