Not a bad price. They are BIG though, I saw one that was "lowered" and still looked like a monster behind a suburban

Here's a cool one, that while more expensive, has some good work done to it. CLICK HERE

man, that 35" tire looks tiny compared to the size of the trailer. i didn't realize they were this big. might have to reconsider...but still might make a great platform for an expo trailer. anyone know how wide these are?

Those prices are typical. You can find them for less than $500 if you search a bit. But as was mentioned, they are BIG trailers. I'm looking to build a M101 3/4ton to pull behind my F250. The M105's are 1.5ton trailers designed to be pulled behind LMTV's and 2.5T trucks not Humvees and Pickups. They're more suited if you have a Mog or Deuce. M101 stock tire is about 36-37" and the M105's run 40ish" tires.

I have a M101A2 with surge break, wood sides and cover bows, that I payed $1500 for. I pull it behind a Land Rover Discovery. It is a good size for general utility use , and moderate off road. Problems off road for me are the weight , and the tongue weight limit my cargo capacity. It weighs over 1200 pounds, and has a 180 pound tongue weight empty. It works well for me, I like it.
A bigger truck could pull more off road using a M101. The surge break increases my on and off road cargo capacity.

The M105 is real big and real heavy, but can be had from Government Liquidation.com for a couple of hundred dollars. It also had air over hydraulic breaks, so your truck has to be able to provide the air.

I hope this helps.

Coleman's Surplus has their jeep trailers(M416) listed on their website for 750. General Jim's also listed the smaller jeep trailers for sale on their webpage. I don't know if they keep their sites current but the smaller trailers seem to be the most popular for off-road use. Good luck!!

There have been several disussions on these trailers (US mil M101 and M105). Do a search for the M101 and see what comes up.

Biggest things to consider for these trailers:
Weight - M101 (1275/empty tongue-120); M105 (2375/empty tongue-~300)(lbs)
Bed size - M101 (7x5x1.5); M105 (8x6x2)(ft)
Tire size - M101 (36" 11.00x16); M105 (38" 11.00x20)
Electrical lights - 24v
Togue - lunette
Dead weight - tires, axles, drums

Benefits - individual side parking brakes, tilt capability, drop tailgate.

I've owned M1052, M101A1, and M416 over the years. I enjoyed the M416 for camping gear, but I had a Bronco to pull with it. I purchased the M101A1 for its larger size and carrying capacity. I am truely glad I sold the M105 when I did. This is what the M105 looks like behind the Bronco.

Soon after, not much camping so sold it. I've purchased a M101 rolling frame as well and currently use to for a camping trailer frame. Its a bit beefy.

For pricing, I haven't paid more than $250 for. I'm local to a gov't liq site.

Here is a M116A2 (M101 with surge brake on tongue) that still has another day for auction to end. I don't have storage for it, otherwise I'd bid on it.
