Goodride Tyres load range E

I have been trying to locate some stronger tyres for the truck.

I have 750 R16 fitted now , max 65psi. It just carries the camper but is a bit baggy for best comfort/stability.

I have found some Goodride 245/75 R16. M/T. Load range E. This brand is new to my local market and I wanted some first hand user experience report, if you will.

Do the E range make the unloaded ride stiffer? How does the tread wear compare to your older lighter load range tyres?
Did changing to the E tyre really help your vehicle stability?
Any words of warning you care to share?

Thanks for your time :)

Do the E range make the unloaded ride stiffer? Yes, but not unbearable. If you adjust the air pressure it reduces the harshness.

How does the tread wear compare to your older lighter load range tyres? Went from Goodyear Silent Armor Load D to Load E in the same 265/75-16 size and tire life went from 45k miles to 55k miles.

Did changing to the E tyre really help your vehicle stability? Yes, greatly. Can not emphasize that enough. Even unloaded it felt much better.

Any words of warning you care to share? Don't wait. Move to E-load range, but I never used an off-brand tire. I tried BFG, a few different Michelin and a few Goodyear tires before I settled on the Goodyear Silent Armor for mainly road use with some trail use. Now I'm on Goodyear Duratrac load-E tires.

I had trailer tyres from this company on the last Airstream I restored. They were fine. I've never seen their truck tyres though, so can't give an opinion on them. Load range E tyres will be stiffer when unladen, but depending on what you are driving, they likely won't be too bad. As said above, you can run much lower pressure without the camper on.

I work at a repair shop/tire shop, when people come in asking us for Goodride they want something that is cheep black and round, for Passenger tires I have only seen around 10-20,000 miles max on them before they need replaced again, I have only mounted a few sets of their Light truck tires and have not seen the trucks again to judge reliability, I got some general grabber at2 for my truck in load range E I have had very good luck with these I have about 40,000mi on them and still have half tread or less but they are not aggressive enough for me but they have been a great tire so far.

just my .02 cents. good luck with the search.

Thanks for your thoughts , I appreciate your time.

I am getting some rims altered to take the larger E rated tyres.

Progress report later :)

The original wheels on my truck are 15" x 5.5" and had 700x15 tyres.

I have had some 16" rims on the rear , just standard Landcruiser ones I had, that have 750x16 tyres. The load with the camper is plenty for those tyres and also , I really wanted to have hub caps on the rear again.

I have found some spare 15" original 'artillery' rims and have the centers taken out and fitted into a 16" x 7" rim.

All the extra width has had to be on the outside so they look REALLY deep dish.

But the hub caps fit :)

I want to thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions .

I have changed to E load tyres and the improvement in stability is GREAT :)

I decided to go the budget tyre as I have found the past 2 sets of tyres have perished in the side walls before the tread wore out ........ it remains to be seen how that works out. I decided against the Goodride , but only because the tread was more aggressive than I wanted, I have fitted Hifly mud terrains, they are a bit noisy, but grip real good.

I also like the way the deep dish rim fills out the fender :)
