Well, I've been wheelin' the 99 TJ and it's been a great ride, but now with a 2nd rugrat, but it's been a little cramped latey. I've always wished my '03 DCab prerunner was 4x4 for the mountain roads on vacation. So, I finally decided that I would sell them both and get a newer gen DCab Tacoma 4x4.
After a month long search I finally found my truck. One slight problem, the truck was a 4 hour drive away. I asked the wife if she'd like to go on a road trip the next day (she loves road trips), she said sounds great. I already had dinner plans the next day with a fellow expo'er. So, no problem, if we get up about 4:30am, load up the 3yr old and the 3 mo old, snacks, & drinks, we'll have plenty of time. I should have seen that one coming. On the way to pick up the truck, the youngest gets a fever. So to make a long story short, we get back in town about 2 hours late, drop the sick one and the wife off at the inlaws and rush to the dinner meet. I want to thank bfoxg8r and his wife for forgiving my tardiness.
I ended up with a pristine '06 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 with the TRD package. :jump:
The mod list:
Nitto Terra Grapplers 265/75/16 - done, swaped from the TJ
soon:
Truck bed shell to hold all of the family truckster camping essentials
ARB front bumper
front winch
sliders
slight lift to level front
TSB rear springs
She will serve as a DD, trail ride vehicle, camping trip family truckster. She won't be as hardcore as some of the rigs on here, but she will serve me well, getting me and my family off the beaten track (and more importantly, back) in search of good times.
