No, law abiding people should not be pre-punished. Everyday there are events that prove gun laws don't work. Ultimately, killing someone is universally held as being illegal, yet it is still happening and not with just the evil gun. The punishment for misuse needs to be the deterrent. Unfortunately, our society has become too PC and too passive aggressive to affectively deal with the situation.
Oddly enough I'm normally a lurker, on many many forums but this, this is relevant to my interests. I agree we have become far to pc and passive aggressive. I feel we've also become a nation of sheltered people who are afraid of everything, look to the incidences of terrorism on our soil compared to the freedoms we've jeopardized as an example. Additionally we, and I'm generalizing of course have become incredibly naive about the world around us. The urbanites have no idea about the reality outside of their sheltered little bubbles. The world is a dark place! Before I rant for to long I'll add that the second amendment was included in the bill of rights for a lot more than to protect the right to hunt or self defense.

Posting this question in a sportsman section is like is like a pedophile asking if kiddie porn is normal on a nambla forum. You may just well sit in a room and talk to yourself. Why don't you post this on some liberal forum and attempt to comprehend the reasoning behind their position so you can better defend yours, instead of posting up some idiotic abortion pie chart? Or is this all just some simple method of feeling good about yourself, and not really a question at all?
