GXV Unimog U500 X-Camper

Hello.
Early 2024 I was selling this truck. Health reasons almost did not allow me to use it, unfortunatly, for years.
The same serious reasons have taken me to hospital for many monthes since early 2024 and could not manage anything about the sale neither contacts from anybody. I'm now able for a while to manage the issue again. hopefully time enough for selling the rig. Adds have not been reactivated yet. I will in the next couple of days. One of the mains editors of Overland Journal knows about this issue.
The truck as almost never neen used I drove only 5000 km in roads in europe. It is 25.000 km in total (most of them done by GXV before i bought. And since 2024 it is located in a protected place taking care of it.
Meanwhile, hereafter are the original threads from early 2024 if you are interested.
The truck is EU registered in this moment. But was already on USA plates before that till 2011. It was imported to USA from Freightliner /Mercedes and expedition vehicle was built in Missouri by Global Expedition Vehclies. So it should not have to pay reimport taxes cause it already did, and also the GXV vehicle was manufactured in USA. I am not expert on taxes neither USA or othe countries regulations, but in the old therads, USA /Canadian peolple will find some infos from people that know much more than me about this issue.
The vehicle is in this moment in Europe. If you are not thinking about seing the truck personnaly there before buying, do not loose your/our time. It is a must see truck. I can supply on personal basis a lot of pictures, video, infos comments and docs. But before buying it, YOU MUST SEE IN PERSON. And then you should have to take a plane ticket if seriuosly interested. Here is a picture of the truck in August 2010 when I visit it and bought it in Missouri. Since then, almost not used at all (2 weeks in portugal and 2 months in a camping), but a huge amount of modifications and improvements have been done, specialy regarding is already impressive offroad capabilities, security issues and motorcycle carrier issues (ALWAYS THINKING AND PREPARING THE VEHICLE FOR THE TRIP I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DO). Many relevant improvements have been done in order to allow a realistic capability of overlanding ALONE. If someone has been dealing with a truck this weight, size and complexity, you probably know how much critical is this issue when you are a single person alone dealing with any issue on the road, even as simple has changing a spare wheel/tire. All has been prepared to allow one single person to manage those issues alone, and it si not easy.
