Good Radio Choice... Any Luck on the test...?
That radio is all you will ever need for wheeling... VHF has the range by itself at 65 watts... then figure a repeater will likely be near by, and your covered.
Only word of warning is use of a "club" repeater for a wheeling event my require some permission, but normally not an issue most clubs are glad to help.
Any luck on the test... if not, try some of the on line practice tests, they are great for getting ready for the next one.
I picked up a 65 watt 2m yaesu FT-2800M radio for $150.
I am not liscenced yet, been studying and am going to take the test this upcoming Sunday.
Thanks again for all of the help!
