Stubby bumpers look cool, but you loose alot of protection over a full width bumper. Ask my fenders how I know this...

Why would I want to worry about oxidized aluminum under my winch mounts?

you'll have a hard time removing the winch from the bumper even if its unbolted. your bumper will disintegrate just like steel will rust and turn back into dirt.

I hardly think that will be an issue here in Colorado. My last winch had an aluminum chassis sitting on a steel bumper. It was there for 10 years and never an issue.

I'm looking at aluminum bumpers for a 2 dr. JK project. I like the looks of the Aberle front and rear. Came across your build thread, and am interested in your feelings about the Aberle bumpers after running them for a while now. Also, did you get the rear bumper from them also?
