Heavy duty ratchet straps for recovery?

for what you want to use them for i would think they would fail miserably, i mean, you know how many cars you see scattered about the roadways all across america with tattered bits of 2" web strap hanging off them. if i was you i wouldnt do it,, no way, i would get a 12k winch to firm up your come along before ratcheting your way to freedom.:sombrero:

it seems like cost was one of the OP's main criteria, so i don't think a $1000 winch and a $150 receiver mount is going to be in his budget.

Vehicle recovery isn't a new science. If it was a good idea more people would be doing it and manufacturers would be slapping their logo on them and marketing them as recovery items. But their not so that says something.
