Helinox Table One; chair feet; cot feedback??

TABLE: I guess I'm officially a Helinox addict, even though I complain mightily about their prices. The Table One arrived today and I have to say I love it. It's surprisingly strong and sturdy thanks to the same tensioning of the poles as with the chairs and cots. The cup holders will be handy for holding small items. I caved in and bought it after spending an afternoon on a beach with my lunch half buried in the sand.

The table and the Sunset chair will be perfect together. I'm planning on taking both of them for bike and kayak day trips; kayak camping; car camping for sitting by the fire; and to use in the tent next to a tall cot.

FEET: I got some racquetball balls today. Less obtrusive color than tennis balls. Couldn't find any wiffle balls.

THIS YEAR'S NEW HELINOX COTS: Has anyone bought one and do you have any feedback?

I picked up one of the high cots. Pretty expensive. I believe Amazon has them on sale right now for $100 off. I definitely would not pay full price for them as they are over priced. They do take a bit to set up compared to some of the easy cots out there, but it packs down much smaller and is super light. I do wish it was as wide as the new wide low cot but I am sure that will probably come out next year since I bought my cot this year.

I do pair it with a sleeping mat but other than that I would recommend it. I probably will end up with at least one sunset chair as I already have several chair ones and the table one. Good Stuff.

AML, Is the High Cot stable in spite of the length of the legs? Does it feel like it can support your weight solidly even when you move around on it? The setup appears to be as easy as the Cot One, since the legs are all attached together.

I agree that 26" isn't wide enough for a luxury cot. Yup, they'll probably make a wide version next year and it will probably cost $500!

Backcountry Edge has it for $300 right now. I won't pay that much. I have $450 in Helinox products already (all bought on sale). I'm guessing that resale of these products on Craigslist could be difficult if I wanted to upgrade.

I was looking at the cot max....wider and longer. However after researching more, the cot is 6'8 long and my oz tent is 6'6?? I would love to have the cot max, but looks like it won't fit.......

the ball thing not sure what rod size the table is I find the golf balls worked best

the sunset chair ? not sure what I am going to use since the legs are larger dia ?
maybe find some solid ball a bit bigger than a golf ball that is also as tough as a golf ball :)

racquet balls could work to :) my only thing is if its a X cut in and sand and water gets in kinda a pain ? as it then leaks out when packing unpacking
tennis or wiffle pick up and hold to much junk big time

for me it comes down to has to be a solid foot

Well I think the real problem here is poor feet on a $150 chair. No excuse for that. All outdoor chairs need sink-resistant feet.

With a rubber racquetball I bet you could cut a tight circle that will closely the opening pretty well rather than an X. I'll try that soon and let you know how it goes. Racquetballs should be more durable than tennis balls.

OK, I experimented with the racquetballs. It didn't go that well. The balls tend to tear as you cut them. Doable but not easy. I also think they're a bit heavy and bulky. I'm going to try the strap idea next---someone in this forum had a way of attaching a webbing strap across the feet. Maybe that would be lighter.

I wish they made plus size golf balls :) cause I like the way golf balls grip the rocks ? these might be to slippery but could be fun

tried some webbing in my tests :) downside again holds dirt and mud and then require more putting together :)
my goal at least was open up and nothing to take on or put off or absorb any mud dirt or anything :)

I think there will be knockoffs of the Cot One and the High Cot within the next year. Since Asian companies are making very similar chairs and tables they obviously have the design capability and technology. The greater challenge of the cots for knockoffs is that they have to support up to 250 lbs with durability and stability. It think there's a good market for Helinox knockoff cots if they're well made. I bet many people in this forum would pay $150 for a knockoff cot. I sure would. It would be worth it.

have not seen anything ? that link are larger nylon balls ? get them drill them ? the new sunset legs are larger so golf balls wont work :) but the golf balls have worked awesome on our regular chairs :)

I am sure knock offs will be coming for the cots :) knowing how much nicer the chairs are than other chairs still :) kinda wonder if the cots will be not quite as nice also ?
