Thoughts and prayers for you JP and your family and fellow victims of the earthquake. Is there anything we may do to help?

Appreciated mates, really our support systems are very good and the government is really well coordinated as far as we've seen. Not a lot to do thanks so much, we've been told to remain at home unless extremely necessary since there are parts of the city without power nor stoplights and also a lot of debris and fallen highways. Luckily I live in a safe area. The only shortage as far is fuel in gas stations but more because of speculation, since we are with full stocks of gas.
There will be huge money needed to repair infrastructure like ports, bridges, highways , rail road and houses in poorer parts of some cities. In the night there was nothing to measure the amount of damage , so when the sunrise came and helicopters could fly ... wow.
Its really frightening to see that you are shaking heavily in the darkness running in your home to grab the children and then just pray that the quake stops... that sound is something difficult to forget. All i all is life what matters.

Thanks guys, again we appreciate your suport and prayers. The epicenter was like 200 miles from here (Santiago, nevertheless we got a 8.8 quake here) so imagine what is going on there (9.0) , am watching tv where fishing boats ended in the streets (due to local water rise ) in southern cities like toys or like a film , can't really believe this would happen to us (last big quake was in 1985, and the biggest ever recorded was 9.5 in 1960 some 200 miles south of what happened today)

Stunning photos and best of luck to you and your fellow citizens. I dated a girl briefly who's father was a consulate to Argentina and Chile in the late 60's. She had a beautiful upbringing there during a very peaceful period. Love that Patrol! Unfortunately,thanks to EPA rules and who knows whatever bs,it's unavailable here. I trust the Chilean people will pick themselves up, rebuild and prosper.

Do you know of any need for an experienced southern california based architect? My specialty is the construction side, working with contractors. My wife has always wanted to go to Chile...

Wow thanks , really not (I'm on the mashinery building field) but have seen on TV that many US professionals are around the place helping and studying quake consequences, aftershock behaviour, reconstruction, etc.
