Thanks for the links.
They have a nice intro on the GoPro HD on the first link.

For watching back on most computers with a wide screen monitor 20" and above, what res shot with the cam will work best when viewing full screen via YouTube?
1080p at 30 frames per second, 960p with 4:3 resolution for maximum viewing area, or 720p at 60 frames per second
I am thinking the 960P.

This vid here was shot at 960P that is in GoPro's thread over on mtbr.

That is an incredible looking detailed video with that new HD camera.

He did say they cropped the movie from 4:3 to 16:9 playback for viewing on YouTube.
I do not know how to crop them with Windows Movie Maker, probably can not be done anyways with it.
Not looking to spend $$$ on new software either.

I looked up that H264 format the new camera is going to use, and I may be in luck as far as using it with Windows Movie Maker.

I thought it was a Mac format, but MPG4 might work with Movie Maker?

I wrote GoPro too to find out more on that, and also to see if they have a release date for the new camera.

Thanks Tim, great vids.

Are you going to upgrade to the new GoPro HD one in October?
The rep told me they are coming out near the end of next month.

Good gosh, make sure you shop around.
I called my local Office Depot and they want $140 for a Kodak 32 GB.
I will order the SanDisk one when I get home from work.

I dig Amazon, they always have a good selection, and the one I want falls under the Prime category which means they stock it and I get free two day shipping.

Just pre ordered mine. :bike_rider:

Corey, did you end up ordering the SD Ultra or Ultra II card for it?

Cool, lets hope they are a little head of schedule too, and ship them earlier than the end of the month.

Yes I did get that card, and since I am an Amazon Prime member, this qualified for a Prime shipment with free two day express shipping.
It was waiting for me when I got home today.

PS, I always thought it would be best to shoot in the highest resolution, but I see the 960 is better as it puts more of the vertical image in the movie allowing your handlebars and bike to get in the scene too.

1080p — “True HD” video at 30 frames per second – to put it in perspective, 1080p 30 frames per second is the equivalent of shooting 30 2-megapixel photos per second. Each video still is a 2-megapixel photo, in essence. A first in wearable camera technology, available only from GoPro.

960p — “Maximum Wide Angle” video at 30 frames per second – 960p offers 25% more vertical viewing area than other resolutions. This means you can see your knees and skis on the slopes, and your handlebars and bike frame beneath you when charging the singletrack. Yet another first in wearable cameras, only from GoPro.

720p – “Slow-motion Cinema” is possible thanks to the HD Helmet HERO's incredibly smooth 60 frames per second 720p video. Again, a first in wearable camera technology, only from GoPro.
