Help choosing shocks!!!

Hey guys, I have a 2001 TJ with a 4" suspension lift and 1.5" spacers. I'm trying to find the best shocks that will give me a sturdy ride. I was having a problem with the ride being very soft, so I changed out my old 24" skyjacker shocks with 26" pro-comps on all four corners. It did not change the ride at all. Any suggestions on a heavy duty shock that that will give me a firm ride? Thanks.

I would hold out and get the new Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sport long travel shocks.

I read somewhere on an Aussie forum that the part numbers will be 60047L and 60049L. Not sure when they will be here in the states though.

Thanks guys, I'm going to look into all these options. I shoud have sprung for the best rather than looking for a quick "cheap" replacement. Good thing 4 wheel parts is gonna allow me to return the pro comps for a full refund! I've had a few people recommend the Bilstein gas shocks.

Which Pro Comps are you using? While I am by no means an advocate of all Pro Comp products I am very happy with the MX6's on my LJ with a 4" lift and 35's.

:sombrero: I'm more than just happy with the RC9000XL (adj) shocks for my JK and they're set on (5) for routine use, firm, no bounce !!

They're gas charged, also

I purchased Pro Comp ES3000 Series for a quick and cheap replacement. Lesson learned! I've also heard good things about the MX6 but it looks like I may grab the Bilstein 5100's today. Thanks for the info.

invest in some good shocks. you wont regret it.
I've always like Bilsteins.

From the recent trip to Death Valley. The brutal washboards made my shocks so hot that i couldn't even touch them (a quick poke was all i can do) and while driving i could actually feel them fade. I'm still running the factory 09' Rubicon shocks that came with the vehicle.
My brother on the other hand was running the bilstien 5150's on his 4 runner and they were actually cool to the touch.
