Help with leaking window

I found Alert Bay an interesting place to visit; there is a good museum there. There is also a great campground on Johnstone Straight, just south of Tsitka River Park. It is 10 or so miles down some logging roads. We got sort of lost finding it. Awesome spot to camp though. Saw a couple of bears on the drive out.

Back to my original post, we had a previous leak on a smaller dual-pane window that was fixed by caulking around the outside frame with clear silicone, and I expect that will also be done for this latest window leak.

I downloaded the Dometic installation manual and it specified that a "flexible non-hardening sealing compound e.g. SikaLastomer-710" be applied around the window frame before mounting. If this is what has failed should the window be removed and sealant re-applied, or is the exterior silicone caulking an effective solution?

Regardless, window should be removed to dry out any moisture that may be lurking in the hole before proceeding. Otherwise, if you just seal it and there’s moisture stuck inside, you’ll have bigger problems later

Silicone is not the best choice because nothing bonds to it. It is used as a mold release with the FRP skin. If the silicone isn't cleaned off 110% nothing will bond. This is why I avoid silicone.

In this case try once more with silicone caulk. The old silicone needs to be removed. I have hard plastic scraper made from Acetal. The area then needs to be cleaned 110% with acetone and alcohol.

As long as there's no fiberglass mat insulation it will dry to the inside.

Here is the previous fix to another window. Should continue to be effective as long as the silicone stays adhered to the exterior panel? The Dometic installation manual is completely silent on repairing a leaking seal :-(

Thanks for the offer but we are home now. Had a great, if wet, time on the Island . Will be taking the unit to the builder in a couple of weeks for a few issues and some upgrades so I will check then.
