Hey Dodge 2500 owners!

PW's used smalled rearends supposedly to keep weight down, help with ground clearance and supposedly its easier to fit 4.56's in a 10.5 than a 11.5.

Eitherway, good finds!

Only diesels have the 11.5 rear. No locker is made for the 11.5.

The front locker will fit gas or diesel.

You had me going there. Not going to fit my rig. With an '01.5, I can get an ARB front locker for the D-60, but must go to selectable hubs and outer shafts to get the most out of it.
Currently, I'm very happy with the Power Lok rear diff (35 spline, Dana 80FF)
It has a lot of preload, so the inside rear wheel chirps around corners with no load in the bed.
I was on AAM's website and they list some factory so-called 'lockers' for their axles. I don't know if these are a wet clutch type limited slip or a full on mechanical locker.
regards, as always, jefe

Diesel or Hemi 2500 owners could also go this route and order complete assemblies from their local Dodge dealers.

AXLE ASSEMBLES

Now available from Mopar: the Dodge Power Wagon front and rear axle assemblies. These assemblies will provide the next level of off-road performance for your Dodge Ram. These axles are shipped with current Power Wagon suspension mounting brackets installed. These axles come completely assembled with 4.56 gear, disc brakes and locking differential.

A friend of man is a parts manager at a dealership and say the least, price wise, its worth it to buy the complete assembly from dodge because after you swap in the complete axle assembly and sell your stock axle, you can come out to almost the same price as just getting the locker and gear buy itself. PLUS, if you buy the whole axle assembly, you can install that yourself in your driveway and not have to go to a gear shop to get everything put in and tuned. Simple bolt on swap.

So what are the prices?

On edit: At one place, the front was listed at $3500 and the rear $3200.

I'm being lead to think that not all diesels have the 11.5" axle. At least one has the 10.5" axle under it as delivered. Not knowing much about these trucks earlier posts had me thinking that all diesels were 11.5's.

Fact, not all diesels do have 11.5's but those are few and far between. I believe they only came on the ST's.

Those prices were more than what I remembered but then again, I get all my parts at 10% above dealer :D

The 03's and early 04 SO motors came with 10.5" axles. The newer '04.5's is when they started with the standard 11.5" AAM's.

But, its still great news for those out there with a 10.5"AAM behind their cummins AND the HEMI's to boot!

Thanks for the correct Heimz, I always thought it was more of an upgrade option.
