Bill Burke (who is in the left of the photo) refers to it as a "bung".

Hmmm.

Note that if you have any shackle loops that you can hook the nose of the Hi-Lift through the shackle bow and lift from there.

I recieved my Hi Lift jack and Jack Mate from UPS the other day. Someone mentioned wheel chocks when using a Hi Lift what brand and or size?

I use the 'On the Trail' brand. Size depends on the rocks/debris at hand.

Seriously. No need for fancy schmancy wheel chocks. I typically throw a eggplant sized or larger rock in front and back of the wheels.

If those aren't at hand, I throw a fire log down. I always have logs cause you never know when you won't have anything else to burn for a camp fire.:smiley_drive:

So much for thread revival

given the fact that some pics of bill burke in action were posted in this thread I thought it would be permissable to provide a link to Bill Burkes youtube channel .

it contains several how to videos concerning the use of a high lift Jack
and several of the Hilift accesories.

the following is a link to serveral other youtube videos taken over the years

the training at the wilds video is especially informative especially for those at a beginner's level

others include his training of the toyota trails team and his interview with superwinch where he discusses some of his life experiances including those regarding his participation in the camel trophy

The flat, large plastic base is an item I have used most with AND without the jack. Seems to come in handy.
