Hierarchy of hard sided campers that handle the snow/winter?

A truly cold weather shelter would use a heat exchanger for the ventilation, moist warm outgoing air heats the incoming dryer air.
When the insulation gets quite good, the ventilation loss becomes an important factor, and a heat exchanger would certainly help. But I think this is probably only practical for someone really trying to minimize heat energy... maybe use only body heat, electric heat, or a very simple heater.

But as Idasho mentioned, the fuel use is pretty trivial for the sort of construction we are talking about. His rig even has some wood framing unlike the more common foam/fiberglass sandwich panel... which is essentially air-tight, and avoids significant bridging.

Also, regarding heat loss on the floor vs the ceiling, the loss will be proportional to the delta T between the interior/exterior surfaces. Airflow (or the lack of) on the surface can effect this, but it will usually be minor compared to the insulation value of the foam. Since the panels are sealed you won't get any air migrating through them.

Another elusive tidbit with the foam core / FRP panels is that their insulative properties mean that they don't conduct much heat (thermal energy) into areas that aren't in contact with warmed air.

Idasho's wood build would likely have more heat in the nooks and cranny's and inside cabinets / under mattresses etc.

Bold statement yes. How significant, not sure. Fun to think about though.

Yup - all true - tons of info on the website - sorry for the slow response, was too busy managing sales :)

So to clarify, you own Cascadia Composites, and yet you out here posting about YOUR company in a third person sense? You are even braggadocios in being entirely deceptive and dishonest. WOW, you are an incredible piece of.....

From what I hear their pricing is exceptional given the quality of materials used. Probably more of a comparison to BOX as far as panel quality & the skins are the toughest I’ve ever seen.
Floor R value with the composite hardboard they are using should 7-10 depending on what you give the honeycomb as the vacuum bonding process should pull most air out of the honeycomb and leave it sealed but you can’t count on it pulling and holding a hard vacuum. The stiffness to weight ratio of that honeycomb in a sandwich layup is wild.

I saw that mini model at Expo and the corners are FRP.

Looks like Cascadia Composites has the highest R value (R15) due to their panel thickness and from my research, with the type of foam they are using, the R value of the Cascadia panels will not degrade over time.

But don't take my word on it: EPS vs PU foam or EPS vs PIR foam

As I read this, the superior R value of a PU or PIR foam wall of the same wall thickness when new will degrade by off-gassing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and within 1 to 2 years to be similar to the same thickness wall with EPS foam since the EPS doesn't off-gas anything.

So no VOCs and EPS is rot-proof, mold, water, and moisture resistant due to its closed cell matrix.

Gents, just came here to offer truths without hyperbole after being defamed and slandered in this very thread. I'll leave it all to you.
It seems unwise to act in a less than credible way and then throw up your hands and say you'll leave it to the peanut gallery to decide. It is a strange way to run a business because at this point, you're basically admitting you kinda suck.

Also, you can't be slandered in a text thread.

But that’s not what you did. You misrepresented yourself as an informed individual here to talk shop about campers. I honestly thought you were just a random dude that knew a lot about campers. Come to find out you have an invested interest in Cascadia. It’s akin to giving yourself a 5-star review on Google. You should have just disclosed upfront that you own or have some involvement with Cascadia. I work in the medical field and any time I give a talk I need to disclose business relationships beforehand. Medical and business ethics are not too different.

I honestly don’t care about your beef with Andreas or TC. It’s not my business and I don’t have all the details. However the way you represent yourself seems like a pattern and you’re showing your true colors for everyone to see.
