$3.50/ft. Pretty steep.
Gotta figure it's two lengths of cable, so $1.75/ft for 6 AWG is in the ball park. Ancor 6 AWG UL 1426 goes for $1.95/ft at West Marine. You can find similar cheaper but just a data point of reference.

Still pricey. But seeing it for $1.50/ft (8/2 equiv) on other sites.

You're seeing 8/2 duplex marine for $1.50/ft? That's a steal. West Marine (again, just a data point) gets $0.96/ft for UL 1426 8AWG Ancor and genuinedealz is asking $2.65/ft for the duplex.

margins at bestboatwire are very thin

see the same quality in sub-100' quantities for much less, I want to know about it.

Sure from dubious sources anything is possible, there I'll let others be the pioneers

If you wanted to do extension cords for solar panels and you wanted something flexible and easy to store why not consider a paired zip cord style. No not lamp cord. I have never worked with jacketed marine cable but it reminds me of residential wiring and that stuff only coils nicely in the factory box.
This paired zip cord is available from 2 ga all the way to 22ga. 8ga is roughly $2/foot for 25 feet.

Lot better quality than that off color cord posted earlier.

The best trick for a portable setup if you wanted long enough to park in the shade,

is series the panels to get voltage up, keep the gauge thin.

Victron's MPPT units give a lot of flexibility that way, just go up a size or two and can wire in parallel when that's better, series when you want that, add more panels as needed.

Or put your portable LFP packs out in the field, swap them out as they get full.

Just not where someone's gonna steal them 8-D

cool idea. hadn't thought of that. but honestly, I plan to only have one panel. one GOOD panel. the little suitcase panel that came w/ the trailer, even w/ wires that aren't of good quality/size (and with the PWM controller attached to the solar panel)...is doing a great job of keeping my 200a batteries completely topped. I think the panel is 120w. So doubling+ it should get where I want to be. I actually don't use much power. I come from the die-hard backpacking arena....where you cut your toothbrush in half to save weight. "ounces make pounds" ;-)
