High cost of Fuso parts

Just bought the AC on/off switch for my 99FG. Cost=$55.00. It's an outrageous sum for a simple on/off switch with probably $1.50 of materials in it.

I see that cost as perhaps high, but not outrageous.
Try looking for the same type of switch for a Land Rover, Suzuki, Toyota...or even a Ford /Dodge/Chevy. Will probably be the same, or perhaps higher, I would guess.
For my money, I can't think of a better vehicle than a Fuso FG to spend it on. But that's me.

Really? What kind of 85 Merc would that be ? Just curious, as I personally cannot buy a quart of oil for $9, let alone an electrical switch.

well you look at the cost for a Basic SPST non returning switch at any automotoive store and its $7-$10, added that your buying an OEM part so they arnt manufactured in the same scale, have to be made to fit the vehicle, and the fact that its probably out dated by a few model years and you have a $55 switch, you could always just build a simple switch panel and use said $7 genaric switch in the future.
