So I live in the Northern Virginia area (Fairfax) and today while traveling south bound on the Fairfax County Parkway, I passed (going the otherway, northbound) Three flatbed trailers, the contents of which almost gave me a heart attack. the first trailer had two right hand drive, expo'd out 100 series land cruisers. the second trailer had to right hand drive diesel bj70's, and the last trailer was the doozy...two flint mica 2011 diesel right hand drive hilux's. I almost ******** myself. does anyone here know ANYTHING about this or where/what they were doing here? I WANT!!!

sorry for the hastily published thread, but i cant contain myself.

I wish I knew! That sounds like quite a sight! There is nothing more in this world that I want than a new expo'd hilux with diesel. You should have pulled a 180 and followed!!! Cheers :smiley_drive:

How close to....

A military base are you? I know the military is bringing in some trucks, modifying them for their use and shipping them back to overseas operations...

There are several companies in VA that offer specialized training packages to USG customers in off-road technique, to include RHD vehicles from locations where those customers might be deployed.

That is better than when I saw a truckload of Tacomas and I then I find out they were rusty-frame buybacks. :(

trust me, i wanted to flip a u-turn and pursue, but i was heading for an appt. as far as military bases, that was one of the first thoughts that came to me since here in the DC area, there are, naturally, plenty of government facilities. what made me laugh to myself was that my first thought was that most people would go straight for those land cruisers (they were most beautiful, dont get me wrong), but i would happily subject myself to more all necessary debt to get my hands on one of those hilux's

I would say most likely a training company moving some of their vehicles around. There are quite a few of them in northern VA that specialize in training military folks and have permission from the gov. to import vehicles for that purpose.

Sounds like the same collection that was being driven all over Fort Pickett last week. Most likely new toys for some of the "Go Fast" boys. Friends in Blackstone area reported seeing a few prepared right hand drive vehicles in the parking lot at Slaw's, a local area diner two weeks ago.
