Hitch options for a Gen III?

I've check out the generic fit aftermarket options, but am not thrilled with it hanging down so low on a vehicle that already has a good bit of rear overhang.

Is there a factory option that I am missing? What all are you guys using for your GenIII?

Thanks,
Gavin

Mine was sourced online, made by Valley Industries, who make hitches sold under several brand names if I'm not mistaken. The price was great, shipping was free, and it was an easy bolt-on. It really doesn't hang down all that much. We really pushed the old Gen III in Moab last year, including on Eye of the Whale, Behind the Rocks and Elephant Hill. It ground a bit, but not nearly as much as I thought it would. And it's built hell-for-stout so it never complained a bit about being used for skid duty.

Yeah, I bought a Bolt on unit and hate it. It digs and drags all the time.
I have decided to have a rear custom bumper built that will have a receiver built into it.

Not really any other choices out there...

There are a bunch of aftermarket manufacturers out there that build them. Uhaul, valley, etc. They are all very similar. I took my old aftermarket hitch that I had bought and sliced and diced it up and built it into my rear bumper. Used the same mounting plates and receiver hitch and rewelded them back into my aftermarket bumper. Like a lot of people have echoed on here the rear departure angle is only thing I disliked about the montero. I ALWAYS used to drag exiting and eventually it was going to get ripped off Since building the rear bumper I still drag, but very, very little. I have bent up the spot right behind the rear tires as I come down off of rocks but thats no biggy.
