HMMWV trailer value

Saw this the other day and I am tempted. I would love to build and expedition trailer for my jeep. The guy is asking $950 for it. Is this a good price? I see price for these things that range from a couple hundred to well into the thousands.

Also I how easy is it to change out the tongue for a tri pivot offroad one.

Scoop this one up. Half the build is done.

$950 is a good price cheaper is better.
Take ten hundreds with you start with six and go from there.
If there is registration all the better.
A pintle hitch and some magnetic tail lights are all you need for the ride home " unless it is a close ride"

Looks like an adjustable channel hitch on the surge system.
You can get a 2" receiver adapted to use in place of the Lunette.

So many things I need to look up. I know almost nothing about trailer hitches. I live 3 min from where the trailer is so I wouldn't worry about the lights just have the wife drive behind me

If you have a friend in excavation they would have a pintle to borrow of haul it home for you.
Most landscapers tow with a pintle too.

I would start at $500 especially if it doesn't have lights/plate. You can pick up 101s with beds off GL for $500 all the time.

The older ones had a TCTO which made them unusable until modified, so it might be worthwhile to figure out if this was affected by that.

You aint gonna do too much off road with it and a jeep, too big, unless its on well graded dirt roads.

This looks like a custom military job. The frame is not of a 1101 or 1102 it has the surge system of a 101a2
appears to be a steel frame with aluminum deck and cage mounted onto it.
Dexter torsion axles with 8 on 6.5 Hummer bead lock rims.

I think most people would agree that the trailer should not have a wider stance then the tow vehicle. This would appear to be something towed behind a Hummer.

From what I've read and what people have posted I would not use it with my jeep now. On the other hand I have a tacoma that could really use a trailer. Or it could just become a project that I sell later. It looks like it is in good shape so it probably wouldn't take much.
