My first bike, back in the '70s when I was 16 y.o. was a Honda CB500 Super Sport:




LOVED IT! I still think it was one of the best bikes I've ever owned and being in high school I took it everywhere...street, dirt, the beach, camping, cruise night on Van Nuys Blvd...EVERYWHERE.

Universal for sure. I rode other guys' 750s and never liked them as much as my 500 SS.

I really wouldn't want to have to muscle around anything much bigger off the pavement.

An 1100 for a dirt bike? Sounds pretty piddly. I guess it might make an OK pit bike.

If you really want a bike that puts hair on your chest, how about the Honda XR1500R:

Nice! Funny how people are (were)...

Totally forgot I had a Honda 919....cafe(ish).....now 600's put out more HP.

Can't find a picture of that bike...setup kinda similar to this.

The 919 has the low end tq that a 600 and even some 1000's can only dream about.
