Another option that is not permanent like spray paint are the Plasti-dip spray cans. Its a sort of rubber spray coating that is very durable. It can last for years and in the event you don't want it anymore you can peel it right off.

Check it out...I know a bunch of people who have used them on hoods, roofs, wheels, interiors, etc.

Plastidip works good. Holds up to the elements pretty well. Super easy to apply, and very easy to remove with no trace left behind. The new trend of "murdering" your car with all black everything has spawned a company that sells kits and all Plastidip products called www.dipyourcar.com I just watched a kid at the little import performance shop across from my shop spray his whole Honda in black Plastidip with one of their kits. Took him about an hour to go from a multi-colored pieced together frankencar to a solid matte black car. He gave me a spray can of black to fart around with, but I don't know what I want to coat in the stuff.
