I think being diesel is key, both for the CA emissions and for our interest/purposes. I cant imagine buying/importing a gasoline truck when I could buy something like this for $9k. High roof HJ61 - mmmmm.

Well Scott I am with ya on the drool factor....this rig is under $8000 and is seriously making me reconsider my old suburband engine swap idea. I love Toyota build quality and it is an auto trans also.

Do these prices include all the importation fees? So in other words these prices are for the trucks as-is in SoCal?

When I called regarding a hj61 he had advertised on the LA craigslist for 7900, he told me the actual "out the door cost" was closer to 12-15k, which seemed odd. Perhaps the OP can come in and clear things up, its possible I misunderstood him. I have been drooling over what this guy and CCcruisers have been bringing stateside.

Edit: just went to their site, prices are showing 12-15k now for a nice hj61. Which is still a great deal! Does anyone remember seeing them for closer to 7-10k a month or so ago?

I used to drool. I do no more. I got a 1987 diesel 60, left hand drive that was brought in from canada. I never had an issue registering it (ny) but do expect to pay a pretty penny for no rust, left hand drive diesel cruisers. I got a good deal myself so I consider my self lucky.
