I gave Hound a good hand wash to get the shop crud off, grill will go back in after AC hoses hare installed. 430HP and 425 ft/lb of torque makes for a very peppy FJ62

Now that the truck is up and running I am getting into the door locks and windows. I wired a couple of relays into the door lock switch as described in this thread. The locks now fire up and down with authority. I cleaned up the pitted contacts on the switches. Putting the switch case back together takes a bit of patience. Certainly a job worth doing if you have slow or non functioning locks.

I don't know if it's just me, but I love doing all that detail work. Nice job.

I was talking about this with my wife the other day. Odd, but just seeing the locks fire up and down and the windows go speeding up and down brings great satisfaction. All the little details are what makes the difference in a good build or just a so so build in my mind. I mean............... what good is a mean sounding V8 in a 62 if you cant roll down the windows fast and listen to it :)

We need to like what we do. Sometimes that means doing things that we may not get paid for, just to keep it interesting and up to our standards.

On vehicles that I build just to sell, I do a lot of that nitpicky stuff and the results speak for themselves. Buyers often comment on the level of detail. Things like your window switches make a huge difference.

You can't make this stuff up..........

The spring loaded door on that box worked. I had to open the door to get a wrench in to hold the nut to get the damn thing off. :)
