If that breaker is the only thing between your engine and house battery, then they are permanently tied into a single bank.

In that case, you should do this:

That's a Bussman Shortstop breaker to protect the wiring from melting if there's a short. Extremely common on vehicles:

But thinking it over...I would bet that Airstream came with a battery isolator solenoid. That thing in the middle of the picture in the link I just posted - look around to see if any of the battery + cables connect to a gizmo that looks like that.
