How To - Remove lug nut caps

Remove lug nuts with impact wrench, hold with pliars, burn with torch, drop in water to cool, reapply with impact, next wheel. Finished

I use a 1 1/16" or 1 1/8" socket and have done so for 3+ years on mine in an impact gun and have not had any issues with the dust caps.

what is the point of removing them?

They rattle like jingle bells off road and get bent up easily. There no reason to cover perfectly good lug nuts with blingy caps.

i thought it was the washer jingling. but i have steel wheels with these huge lug nuts.

And i've been running these wheels like this for 50K miles now without issue.
