The folks that wrote the story never have owned a Discovery. They owner didn't cover the truck to protect it against the Hurricane, rather ... covered it to prevent the water ingress into the interior from the roof and rear door!! due to rain!!

What? I do that to my Disco anytime I have to leave it outside in the rain.

You guys ever hear the one about the BMW engineers training the Land Rover engineers during the period of time BMW owned Rover? They were teaching the Rover guys about body sealing, and the test that they do to confirm the seals are effective. They go out on the street, catch a stray dog, and lock it up inside the BMW overnight. If the dog dies of suffocation by the next morning, they consider the test a success. They decided to test a Land Rover to see how it would do. The next morning, the dog had escaped!

That might be a good new business idea, joint Disco sleeping bag and raincoat. Keep you Disco warm, snuggly and dry wherever you go!:ylsmoke:

I came darn close to tarping the DI during the Hurricane. Due to the low height of my garage door it does no fit inside so it rode out the storm with the rest of the cars. Luckily only some pine tassells got blown onto the cars and no damage to the house. I did get to do some storm driving when I took dinner over to my in-laws (no power) and checked on my parents during before the curfew kicked in. It was and still is a damn mess around here but overall no major damage. There was several areas that got flooded pretty deep, of course I headed right for them but the roads were closed and there were too many cops around that would not have appreciated my fording skills so I passed. It was a LONG day Saturday as the storm took her sweet time passing whilst the wind howled and the rain fell. The frequent boom's of falling limbs/trees and the hours without power did nothing to calm things down either. Glad it's over!
