Gov Brewer, passed HB 2307!

I can also carry into bars and restaurants! (unless of course there is a sign that specifically prohibits such)

I hate to say this...

Thank you Jan.

Well, almost. It doesn't become law until 90 days after the legislative session closes, which means around july or august, I think.

All you needed was a CCW before now. 8 hours out of your day and a joke of a shooting qualifier...5 @ 5 yards and 10 @ 10 yards in a 14" x 16" target.

I got mine last month, despite the pending legislation.

Which is good - you can use it to carry in many (but not all) other states.

You will still need a CCW to carry into a bar or restaurant, if permitted, is my understanding. But anywhere else you do not need it.

As a bar is a private establishment, it was up to the bar itself to allow any weapons at all, yes, CCW or not?

Eigther way this is sort of a stepping stone for other states to follow. I'm sure there wont be a rise in firearm crimes which debunks the 'others' with that other point of veiw.

Personally, I'm all for firearm ownership and the right to carry when I want. Not looking for trouble and I stay away from those nieghborhoods but traveling and the solitude of the desert...

Lucky dogs you guys get easier gun laws and we get stiffer laws. AZ is a open carry state anyways isn't it?. Why conceal when you can open carry leagally? I remember about 7 years ago I was in pheonix at a in and out burger and some dude walked in with a pistol on his hip. I thought awe crap first hour here and I am gonna get robbed already lol.

I have my permit for Oregon, and hardly ever do. I wish I could carry in CA and WA. I do lots of trips up and down I-5 at night.
I-5 is somewhat famous for the random killing that happen along it. At least I am not a teenage runaway prostitute. I think scary looking guys on dirty adventure touring bikes are less at risk of getting killed by psycho's. I hope.
As far as long guns, Oregon law says that they can not be concealed. So, no matter how well you have hid it, it is not considered a concealed weapon. IE, 12 gauge pump (loaded) in a riffle bag on my divider net in the Jeep is legal. It is not considered a concealed weapon because I have to get out of the Jeep to retrieve it. A loaded rifle or handgun i plain sight in a vehicle is also OK here as long as you are in the vehicle with it.
