I found a FJ...can I keep it?

On the way home from work this afternoon I found a nice white FJ Cruiser stuck in the mighty Rio Grande river in El Paso, TX.
Not sure when it got there, during the night or sometime this morning.
Looks like they tried to strap it out but I don't see any tire marks at the rear end of the cruiser but there a crappy strap hooked to the rear & floating in the water.
I pass this way a few times during the day & will get more pictures of the recover if I catch it.

It's in a river. Perhaps the salvage laws of the high seas may apply. If so, if you recover it I think you have a legitimate claim to it.

Worst case, the engine is one oily soup and water's gotten into the drivetrain.

Best case scenario: They didn't have enough momentun or finesse to make it up onto the edge of the river. They stepped on the gas and ended up sinking it lower on the mud. Then they gave up and turned it off. What kind of damage, best case scenario, did the FJ suffer?

They got in and it started right up, it was running when they towed it backwards through the water. The exhaust dipped lower as it was pulled back when they got it level it was smoking pretty good but I don't think it did any damage to the engine. Looked to be running OK when he drove off.

what are the diff breathers like on the fj? they could be full of water and lead to some expencive repairs if all the fluids are not changed soon.
