Ahha...There's your problem. Bait!?! I thought you bait fishermen kept it in Folger's cans (That's what the movie said at least)? You'd save a lot of power if you flyfished.:D

LOL....flyfishing for flatheads on the Colorado outside of Yuma.

I don't think anyone disagreed with you.......

just why the F were you camping there........one word....... HOT

we stopped in mojave in august last year....at the campsite on the CO river
oh look lovely blue water and people skiing.

we paid our dues set up camp...all three of us retired to sitting in the river up to our necks drinking cold ones....

except the dog...( hes was in the water...but not drinking)

we tried exiting the river multiple times......it was just sooooohot
and we ended up in a motel 6.

I work with designing instrumentation systems for weird places,,,and its surprizing what simple answers change local enviroments.

white paint-------a 4 " gap sun shield------double skin enclosures...think landrover tropical roofs.

sun shades, natural ventilation etc etc

no power required just changes in how the system is housed/shade

it makes a huge diference

I dont know, i even bbq'd during the day and sweated all my beer out... but it was still alright. Wore my big hat :sombrero: and enjoyed the peacefulness before the river rats showed up for the summer.

Are you running a Transit bag with your fridge?? That helped me out when i had the 80 in the desert
No, and i need too. I just haven't buckled down and emptied that much denero yet for a cover for my fridge. Seems insane. But yes, i know... they're awesome and i bet it would have worked great for this trip.

Thats part of your problem!

I noticed a BIG difference in the fridge "cycling" much less as soon as i got the transit bag.

I strongly recommend it, especially for camping in those "Ungodly" conditions! :D :D :D
