We've got a 2019 FX4 Max with a leveling kit and larger tires. Next I might try the Rough Country 3/2 kit with 295/70/18s or Raptor take offs.
It's a great vehicle for hauling a lot of gear, people, animals, etc.. I've hauled full sheets of plywood and 8ft lumber in the back when it was raining since I couldn't have kept it dry in my truck. It may not have the off-road capabilities a lot of folks on here need but a small lift will get a 34-35 inch tire under it and it will do fine on many forest roads and mild off-roading. Full size SUVs can get pricey so I get that, we did get ours for $14k off MSRP back before COVID so that was pretty significant. We traded a 2016 Z71 Tahoe because we needed the middle bench seat and more cargo capacity.
I really like my 2014 Ram but sometimes I think about trading it for something else for my wife and taking over the Expedition. It fits the family and dogs better and can still carry whatever else we need like bikes, kayaks, and camping gear. My truck doesn't get used much other than big camping trips where we tend to pack too much to anyway. I think a 2nd mid-size SUV would be nice for some added fuel economy when we only need people, dogs, and a couple bags. The only thing holding me back is I bought my truck new in 2014, it has low miles, and I really do like it, that and maybe the thought of my wife saying yes to adding a Wrangler or new Bronco just for fun.
