The truck cab's Halotron fire extinguisher was brought over from my rally car and is now 15 years old with the pressure gauge sitting on the line between green and red. Sticker shock after seeing the price of new and disappointment in not finding anyone locally that refills.
A nifty, reasonably priced, solution was presented by Element Fire of Italy. I'm not a chemist but as I understand, their product sprays potassium ions that capture oxygen molecules and starve the fire...in principle much like Halotron, including no mess or residue left behind. They claim its good for 40 seconds of discharge too! Anyhoo, I went ahead and installed one today.
Didn't think to take a picture but this is from the website. Anyone that already has a Braketeer, just order a 2nd mounting clip to go with the one included with the extinguisher and it will bolt right on.
