My family and I just completed an eight-day visit to Idaho. Our plan was really...well, no plan! We brought the bikes, fly rods, and a few books to read. Idaho is a such a magical place. Whether on foot, bike, or vechicle, there are so many places to explore. And, water!!!! The fly fishin is beautiful.

So many wide-open spaces and places!

Lilly was ready to fish...Will have to remind her that the fish are NOT up in the sky...We were camped off of Trail Creek. Sun Valley has some tremendous singletrack! Corral Creek, Adams Gulch, Lake Creek...Didn't have the camera. I was breathin too hard on my single speed!

Lilly just wanted to make bubbles

Fishin on the Big Wood is a real treat. Easy access...Great water...and, the fish like to bite!

We headed north and came to the Yankee Fork Drainage out of Sunbeam. There is a old dredge there that the Forest Service now owns. Great tour...The dredge moved about a mile a year...for about a total of 6 miles of dredging for gold. At the time, the gold was regulated by the US. Imagine...$34 an ounce...It is worth the tour!

Old ghost, mining towns dot the area!. It is fun to see and walk around the old buildings. This was a quick shot of Bonanza City. This town was closest to the dredge.

No firebans in Idaho! It was cool in the morning. Coffee and a fire...What else does one need?

Lilly just wanted to ride the double track!

Hikes and exploration are all over the place...People? Not so much...didn't see anyone for a few days...

On the way back to our campsite...I noticed what appeared to be a really nice fishing hole. The water looked deep...it had potential. I told my wife she should throw her line in...She used to be a fly fishing guide...she knew what to do...Minutes later, she hooked a trophy rainbow out of the river. Red, pink belly, sparklin...After a few pictures, we put the fish back to fight another day!
More to come...
